Police say they've arrested a man who hit a bicyclist with his car then fled the scene as the man lay dying on a Miami street last month.
Jose F. Castellanos Ricardo, 47, was arrested Tuesday and charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing death in the June 25 crash in Northwest Miami-Dade.
Police say Castellanos Ricardo was behind the wheel of an Oldsmobile when he struck 43-year-old Francisco Caro as he rode his bike around 11 p.m. in the 8300 block of Northwest 32nd Avenue.
Castellanos Ricardo stopped his car, got out and looked at Caro before fleeing the scene, police said. Caro was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Castellanos Ricardo is being held on $10,500 bond, records show. It was not immediately known whether he has an attorney.
