Miami Police say they've arrested a man in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found in a trash can over the 4th of July weekend.

Damien Mungin, 32, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Sandy Cenin, whose body was found in the trash can near NW 54th Street and North Miami Avenue in Little Haiti on July 5, police said.

No other details of the arrest were immediately known. Mungin was being held without bond Thursday and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

Police haven't said how or why the victim was killed, but some neighbors said she may have been shot before she was stuffed into the trash can.

"You just heard pop, pop, pop. You know maybe like two to three shots," neighbor Tony Mendez told NBC 6.

The shooting is still under investigation, police said.
