If you're not supposed to be texting and driving, you're definitely not supposed to be sexting and driving...and drinking.
A New Port Richey man found that out the hard way after he got into a fender bender and told police it happened because he was exchanging steamy text messages with his girlfriend while behind the wheel.
It didn't help that Phernando Cuello, 29, was also allegedly drinking when he was involved in the accident Sunday.
The Tampa man initially told the woman he hit that the crash was caused by another driver who cut him off, then changed his story and gave the sexting excuse.
When cops showed up Cuello allegedly had a strong smell of alcohol, glassy eyes and slurred speech. He refused a breath test but was arrested after he failed a sobriety test.
He was charged with driving under the influence.
