It was a flipping great start to the Fourth of July at the Florida Triple Threat All-star Gymnasium in Davie.

Dozens of kids came out with their parents to meet superheroes and witness stuntman Robert Souris break a world record he originally set.

“I have to execute a summersault, landing on this side over here and I have to stick the landing otherwise it doesn’t count,” Souris told NBC 6.

The last record for the longest front flip was set by a European at 19.8 feet. In order for Souris to officially break the Guinness Book of World Records, he needed a notary, someone to measure the length of the flip and members of the media to document the whole thing.

“He made the world record and then somebody beat him and I think he’s going to get it back,” Christopher Landastaff, a student at Triple Threat said.

Souris was the first to set the world record but come Wednesday, he wanted to make sure that this time he will finally get his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.

After four attempts, Souris made a jump he was happy with and landed at 19 feet 11 and 7/8 inches.

Onlooker Pilar Carvajal said, “This guy is amazing! He had to warm up but he flew and flipped in the air and it was absolutely wonderful to watch.”

“Video games are fun and you can press A and flip but when you come out and do it yourself it’s a whole different experience and it really makes you feel good and so I try to tell the kids out here to come out be active see what I’m doing and maybe it will inspire them to be the future record breakers of the world,” Souris said.
