A Pompano Beach man who police say frequently calls 911 with non-emergencies was busted over the weekend after crying wolf once again.

But Ronald Ernest Jones' problem had the potential for sadness, if nothing else: he told the emergency operator that someone had stolen his liquor.

Jones made the call just before 9 p.m. Friday, police said.

After a brief investigation, police determined the booze burglary was no emergency, and busted Jones for misuse of 911.

Police said they're not sure if the 60-year-old was intoxicated when he made the call, but something tells us it's quite likely.

Broward Sheriff's deputies wanted NBC Miami to remind people to only call 911 for emergencies.
