Man Charged With Murder in Pembroke Park Bus Stop Shooting

A man is facing a murder charge in the killing of another man at a Pembroke Park bus stop last month.

Stanley Rivers, 24, is charged with premeditated murder in the Oct. 3 killing of 58-year-old Luis Rodriguez, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Thursday.

Rivers was booked into jail and was being held without bond, records showed. No attorney information was available.

Officials said the two men were at the bus stop in the 5400 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard when they got into an altercation. Rivers shot Rodriguez and fled the scene on a bicycle, officials said.

Rodriguez was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where he later died. Authorities said forensic evidence left at the scene led them to Rivers.

Rivers isn't cooperating so the motive for the shooting is unknown.
