A South Florida man who leapt from a moving car as it was being chased by police has died.

Isidro Colon was a passenger in a Ford Mustang that was being chased by police Monday morning in Lake Worth when he tried to make a run for it on foot.

But when the 38-year-old jumped out of the car, it rolled over him. He died Wednesday from his injuries, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

The driver of the Mustang, 31-year-old Billy Martin, eventually stopped the car and fled on foot. He was later arrested and charged with several counts, including robbery, burglary, fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest.

Martin was being held on $63,000 bail, but authorities say more charges could be coming.
