Man Found Dead in Hammock Identified

The man found dead in a hammock was William Escobar

Hollywood Police are still puzzled as they unravel what happened to William Escobar, who was found dead in a hammock over the weekend.

Escobar, 48, was a neighborhood handyman who was homeless from time to time, neighbors said. He would often take shelter in the backyard of 1921 Taft Street, where his lifeless body was found on Saturday.

But what's not known is what caused the man's death. Police are still waiting on the results of an autopsy and have not ruled out foul play. When investigators responded to the body, they found signs of trauma, but they would only say Escobar's death was "suspicious in nature."

The people inside the rented home found Escobar's body laying in the hammock at around 7:30 a.m.
