Man Found Shot to Death in Plantation

Police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in Plantation Tuesday.

The shooting happened outside the Del Oro apartments at Northwest 70th Avenue and 16th Street near Plantation High School.

The 25-year-old victim, whose name wasn't released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told NBC 6 they heard at least 12 gunshots.

"There was some girl screaming and a dude laying on the ground. A car pulled up and shot him and took off," a witness explained.

Detectives believe the shooter then fled the scene in a white Sedan.

Officers are also investigating another possible crime scene two blocks down the street where a bullet-sized hole could be seen through the window.

"We're looking into it, but right now we don't know if it's connected to this particular incident," Detective Philip Toman with the Plantation Police Department explained.

The woman inside said the shot came through the window about the same time as the fatal shooting.

Police believe this is an isolated incident, but said the shooter remains on the loose.

A neighbor who was consoling the victim's girlfriend told NBC 6 the victim recently moved to the area from Jamaica.
