Man Molested 6-Year-Old Girl: Miramar Police

Farouk Bacchus, 57, is being held on no bond

A Miami man faces lewd or lascivious molestation charges for his actions against a 6-year-old girl, authorities said.

The victim said that when she was inside the room of 57-year-old Farouk Bacchus on his bed on Feb. 25, he kissed her on her lips as she repeatedly told him to stop and pushed his face away, Miramar Police said in a complaint affidavit they provided on Wednesday. He also intentionally touched her clothing over her genitals, the affidavit said.

The victim’s mother said that her daughter had gone to get a snack inside the home. She said when she was looking around the house for her, she opened Farouk’s bedroom door without knocking and found him laying on top of her daughter, and he immediately rolled over off of her, according to the affidavit.

The victim acknowledged that Farouk had previously touched her genitals under and over her clothing, the affidavit said.

Bacchus was arrested on a warrant on June 29, the affidavit said.

He faces one count of lewd or lascivious conduct by a person 18 years or older and four counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old by a person 18 years old older, online Broward Sheriff’s Office jail records said. He is being held on no bond at the Paul Rein Detention Facility, the records said.

Online Broward court records said Bacchus is represented by attorney Joanna Nagy, with the Broward Public Defender’s Office. She could not immediately be reached for comment late Wednesday afternoon.

Bacchus is set to be arraigned Thursday morning, according to court records.
