Raul Torres, who is charged with traveling to meet a minor, appears in bond court.
A South Florida man who posted an online ad as a "SugahDaddi" was arrested after the 15-year-old girl he arranged to meet and have sex with in exchange for money and gifts turned out to be an undercover cop.
Raul A. Torres, 34, was arrested Monday on charges of traveling to meet a minor, marijuana possession and violation of probation, according to a Pembroke Pines Police report released Wednesday.
In court Tuesday, Torres' bond was set at $26,000, but he was ordered held without bond on the probation charge. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
According to the report, Torres posted the ad labeled "SugahDaddi 4SugahBaybe-34(FLL)" and began communicating with the undercover detective.
Even though he thought he was speaking with a 15-year-old girl, Torres continued to communicate with her, saying "age is just a number," the report said.
He said he was looking for a girl to pay an allowance of $600 a week in exchange for companionship, and told the undercover cop he wanted to kiss her and have sex with her, the report said.
Torres arranged to meet with the "teen" and said he would pay her $400 and buy her a new iPhone 5, and said he would bring condoms and marijuana and that they would either go to a nearby hotel or his home in Miami, the report said.
When Torres showed up to meet her, he was arrested. When officers searched his car, they found a condom, $400 in gift cards and a small amount of marijuana, the report said.
Torres told officers he made a "bad decision," the report said.
