Man Shot in Hialeah Early Monday While Looking for Prostitute: Police

A man was hospitalized after being dropped off at a Hialeah medical facility after being shot while police say he and three friends were looking for a prostitute early Monday morning.

Officers blocked the area near Hialeah Hospital around 2:30 a.m. after a man was near the cafeteria area and told officers he was shot in the head while just blocks away from the scene.

According to Hialeah Police, the man was with his friends driving around 2 a.m. when they noticed another car behind theirs. Soon after, the car pulled around and a person opened fire on their vehicle.

The victim was taken inside the hospital and later transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was random and are working to find a person of interest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Hialeah Police or Miami-Dade Crimestoppers.
