Authorities are looking for an armed robber who ripped off a Fort Lauderdale 7-Eleven last month, police said Wednesday.
The robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the store at 951 Northeast 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale Police said.
Police said the disguised suspect walked into the store, approached the female clerk and asked to buy a pack of cigarettes. When she turned around to get the cigarettes, the suspect pointed a silver handgun at her and demanded cash from the register.
Fearing for her life, the clerk complied with the demands and the suspect grabbed the cash from the register and fled the scene, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-10, who was wearing a black and white striped hooded sweatshirt, jean shorts and a blue t-shirt.
He fled the scene in an older model Ford or Chevy pickup truck and witnesses obtained a partial license plate of 481, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Lauderdale Police at 954-828-6093.
