Man Robbed Woman at Knifepoint in Broward Park: BSO

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a woman at knifepoint at a Broward County park.

The incident happened back on March 29 at Chisholm Park at 800 Northwest 27th Avenue in unincorporated Fort Lauderdale, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Monday.

According to the BSO, 20-year-old I'Lesha Headley was sitting on a bench around 3 a.m. when the suspect approached her and tried to solicit sex from her.

Headley refused and the suspect took out a knife, pushed her to the ground and held her at knifepoint. He searched through her clothing and the two struggled before Headley bit the man on the leg.

The man took Headley's cell phone and fled on a blue bicycle, the BSO said. Headley was treated for injuries to her face from the assault.

The BSO released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as a black male, about 35 years old, tall and with a heavy build, and bald with a beard.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
