Man Says He Shot Landlord Because He Wanted Him Gone: BSO

Sergio Vasallo,62, grabbed his loaded gun from underneath his pillow and shot at his landlord’s chest, authorities said.

A man was arrested after shooting at his landlord with a rifle, Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Sergio Vasallo, 62, told authorities that he had received continuous verbal aggression from his landlord since he moved into the Fort Lauderdale house where he rents a room

During a BBQ on Sunday, the landlord became verbally aggressive towards him, and he decided to walk into his bedroom, the arrest report said.

Moments later, the landlord was standing in front of the bedroom door, yelling at him, BSO said.

According to the report, Vasallo grabbed his loaded gun from underneath his pillow and shot at the landlord’s chest.

Vasallo waited for the authorities in his bedroom and said he wanted his landlord and the situation gone, the report said.

Vasallo is being held without bond at the Broward County Jail. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
