Police Search For Suspect Who Shot Victim During Wynwood Carjacking Tuesday Morning

A man was rushed to the hospital early Tuesday morning after he was shot during a reported carjacking in Wynwood.

Miami Fire Rescue responded to the scene near Northwest 2nd Avenue and 23rd Street around 3:30 a.m., taking the victim to Ryder Trauma Center where he is listed in stable condition after being shot in the leg.

Witnesses say the victim and another person were walking toward their silver BMW when two men in masks approached them, shooting the man and taking off in the car. Miami Police say they are looking for two black men around 5'10" and weighing about 155 pounds.

Police later found the car in Opa-locka around 6:30 a.m., but so far have not said if they have any leads on any suspects.

Roads in the area were closed for about two hours as police conducted their investigation, re-opening shortly after 5:45 a.m.
