Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed inside his truck in Northwest Miami-Dade Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of Northwest 123rd Terrace, Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said.
According to Zabaleta, 37-year-old Andrea Williams was shot through the passenger side window of his truck. Williams was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead at around 9:30 a.m.
It's unknown what led to the shooting. Zabaleta said Williams was trying to get away from the gunman when he was shot.
Williams' death was a deadly deja vu for his family and his young son, his cousin said.
"One of his oldest brothers got killed in the same spot," in front of her aunt's house, said the cousin, who only gave her first name of Chantai.
Police said they're looking for a black male who fled the scene in a dark colored sedan. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
“We feel confident that somebody could have seen something or heard something, and those are the ones that we’re asking the community to become our eyes and ears," Zabaleta said.
