    A man was shot during a robbery outside an assisted living facility in Miami early Wednesday, witnesses said.

    The incident happened around 1 a.m. outside Singer Plaza in the 1300 block of Northwest 16th Street, as the man was walking home pulling a cart full of bags.

    A man was shot during an apparent robbery outside an assisted living facility in Miami early Wednesday, witnesses said.

    Witnesses said a car pulled up and someone got out and pointed a gun at the man. At least one shot was fired and the man was left bleeding on the sidewalk, witnesses said.

    The man, who is between 45 and 50 years old, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with two gunshots in his leg. Police said his wallet was stolen.

    A car matching the description of the one used in the crime was later found burning in the area.

    Police are investigating the incident.
