A 19-year-old man was taken to Hollywood's Memorial Regional Hospital in stable condition after he was shot by a woman in front of a Hollywood Goodyear tire store Monday, police said.

The shooting occurred near the Goodyear at 2825 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood Police said.

The incident began when words were exchanged between the two people in front of the tire shop, police said.

After the woman shot the man, she left the area in a dark-colored four-door vehicle, while the victim was taken to the hospital, Hollywood Police Lt. Osvaldo Perez said.

Police quickly arrived on the scene once the call about the shooting came in. The Hollywood Police headquarters is just a few blocks away.
