Man Stabbed Son, Hits Teen's Mother With Bat: Deputies

A man was arrested for stabbing his son and hitting the teen and his mother with a baseball bat in Dania Beach, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Donald Eugene Murray, 49, remained in jail on no bond Wednesday and faces charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon domestic violence, according to online jail records.

He was arrested early Tuesday morning when deputies found his 18-year-old son on his stomach in the grass of their home's front yard with a puncture wound in center of his lower back, the arrest report said.

The teen's mother was applying pressure to his back in order to control the bleeding.  She had a laceration on her forehead and blood on her nightgown, the report said.

The 14-year-old daughter was not injured, the report said.

The mother and son were transported to Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital.

Murray, who had fled the house, was found in Dania Beach and arrested.

The report said the Murray punctured the mother's car tires parked outside the house,which shared with her children, with a knife and smashed the windows with the bat. The mother and son tried to restrain Murray and that's when the stabbing occurred, and Murray also hit them with the bat, the report said.
