A man walking on an highway ramp died after being struck by a car Saturday evening.
Florida Highway Patrol Sgt. Mark Wysocky said 49-year-old Charles Corteguera was walking on the southbound entrance ramp to Interstate 95 from Copans Road in Pompano Beach around 7 p.m. He was hit by a BMW, driven by 27-year-old Jared Matthew Solomon of Boca Raton.
Corteguera died at the scene. His vehicle was found disabled on I-95 south of Copans Road, Wysocky said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
