Man Faces Charge For Throwing Pizza Slice at Ex-Wife: Cops

The fight was over where they should exchange custody of their young son, authorities said

A man was arrested after throwing a slice of cheese pizza at his ex-wife, hitting her in the abdomen, authorities said.

Jerry Najman, 53, faces a charge of battery after his Monday arrest in Davie, after a fight between him and his ex-wife Sasha Najman, according to the complaint affidavit. It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney.

Authorities said the two could not agree where to drop off their 6-year-old son. They are supposed to conduct the custody exchange at a local Publix, but the last couple months they have been picking up and dropping off the child at their homes, authorities said.

Jerry Najman wanted Sasha Najman to pick the boy up from his home, while she wanted him to give her the child at the Publix, according to authorities.

"The victim eventually responded to the offender's residence but was very upset at having done so," said the affidavit.

The fight escalated and the Jerry Najman threw the slice of pizza he was eating, but she was not injured, the affidavit said.
