Man Tried to Abduct 3 Girls Near Sunrise School: Police

Authorities are searching for a man who they say tried to abduct three young girls as they walked to elementary school in Sunrise Wednesday.

The girls were in the 6600 block of Northwest 21st Court walking to Village Elementary School when they were approached by a man in a car around 7:20 a.m., Sunrise Police said.

The man asked the three girls if they needed a ride and asked them to get into his car. He left when the girls refused.

"It's really, really shocking in Sunrise that I'm hearing this that somebody's trying to abduct children," parent Gracia Fearon said. "I have two babies and three children altogether, it hurts me like, what’s going on here. I’m ready to run away from here. It’s getting crazy."

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male between 30 and 40 years old, with black hair and a short beard. Officials also released an image of his car, an older model greenish-blue Honda Civic with a damaged rear driver's panel.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 954-764-4357.
