Man Tries to Bring Weapons Aboard Delta Flight: Report

The Feb. 28 Delta flight was to LaGuardia Airport in New York

A man at the Palm Beach International Airport was arrested after he tried to board a flight with ammunition, a Taser, a knife and fireworks, the Transportation Security Administration said.

The Feb. 28 Delta flight was to LaGuardia Airport in New York, the Palm Beach Post reported.

The weapons, which included the M-80 fireworks and the four-inch martial arts knife, were found by airport security in his carry-on bag, according to the newspaper.

“Unfortunately, passengers still bring thousands of prohibited items to our checkpoints at PBI every year," TSA spokeswoman Sari Koshetz was quoted as saying. "But our officers are diligent and experienced at intercepting them.”

It was not known why the man had the items in his possession.
