Man Arrested in Attempted Kidnapping in Miami: Police

Police have arrested a man wanted in an attempted kidnapping in Miami, officials said.

Carr was wanted in the kidnapping attempt that happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday near Northwest 13th Avenue and 67th Street, Miami Police said.

According to police, the victim said she was dropping off shoes at a nearby church when she was approached by Carr, who asked her if she drinks and smokes then offered for her to come home with him so he could take care of her.

The victim ignored him, but Carr grabbed her to pull him toward him, police said. She was able to break free and ran toward her sister, and Carr briefly followed them until he left in another direction, police said.

The victim and her sister arrived home and called police, and detectives were able to identify Carr as the suspect, officials said. Police released a previous mugshot of Carr, who has tattoos on his face and neck.

Carr was being held Tuesday on $5,000 bond, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
