Miami Beach officers took a man into custody after an early morning attack on customers inside of a donut shop.

Crews arrived at the scene of the Dunkin Donuts located at 341 Washington Avenue just after 5:30 a.m. after reports that 32-year-old Leroy Jennings struck an elderly victim, Michael Lefkowitz, and another man before getting into an altercation with a third man, according to Miami Beach Police.

Jennings fled the scene and was found on the rooftop of a nearby business, where he was taken into custody. He is charged with three counts of battery on a person over the age of 65 and one count of resisting arrest.

Lefkowitz said the man approached him and asked a question before hitting him with a closed fist - but he plans on continuing his morning routine to the location after he gets back into town.

“I’ll be back," said Lefkowitz. "We will not coerced not to do what we normally do.”

Lefkowitz was taken to an area hospital as was one of the other victims, while a third was treated at the scene.
