Miami Police take a man into custody after the shooting of a woman during an armed robbery in Little Haiti leads to a massive manhunt for the gunman.

One man is in custody after police say someone shot a woman in the hand during an armed robbery in Little Haiti early Monday.

The shooting happened some time around 3:20 a.m. near Northwest 2nd Ave and Northwest 40th street, police said.

Rescuers rushed the injured woman to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. She is expected to be okay, officials said.

Off-Duty Officers Fatally Shot Naked Woman Near Tampa

The shooting set off a massive manhunt in the area for the gunman, with SWAT officers searching near Shadowlawn Elementary School. By 6:45 a.m., police had put a man in the back of a police car near Northwest 51st Street and Northwest 2nd Ave.

No other information was immediately available.
