The FBI is searching for a man they say robbed a Bank of America at 2300 E. Sunrise Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale just before 2 p.m. Friday.

The FBI released little information about Friday’s heist at the Bank of America branch at the Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, saying that the robber demanded money and took an undisclosed amount, that there were customers inside at the time, and that “the robber was last seen on foot leaving the bank.”

However, the agency did say that it believes the man may have been involved in six other bank robberies over the past month and a half, including holdups in Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Boca Raton and Pompano Beach, and two in Hollywood.

The suspect – who appears to have an affinity for the Gators, judging by a surveillance image released by Bank of America – is an equal-opportunity robber, having been involved in heists at seven different bank companies, according to the FBI.

Authorities urge anyone with information on his identity to call the FBI at 305-944-9101 or Crime Stoppers.
