Marathon Woman Arrested For Stabbing Mom: Police

A Marathon woman was arrested overnight Friday for allegedly stabbing her own mother.

Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to calls of a reported stabbing overnight Friday at the Banyan Grove apartments at 5455 MacDonald Avenue in Stock Island.

They arrived to find 53-year-old Aurora Hernandez inside the apartment bleeding profusely from a stab wound to the chest. Also on the scene was Hernandez's 34-year-old daughter, Tabatha Young, and a 10-year-old boy identified as Hernandez's grandson.

Through investigations and interviews, deputies discovered that it was Young who had stabbed her mother.

Hernandez was airlifted to the hospital. Her condition is not known.

Arrest reports do not indicate if Young has hired an attorney. The report also does not indicate who has the grandson.
