Marlins Release 2017 Schedule

The 2017 regular season schedule for the Marlins was released on Wednesday

The Miami Marlins released their 2017 regular season schedule on Wednesday.

Miami's season will get underway on April 3rd in Washington, D.C. It will be a tough start for the Marlins against the likely defending division champions. The Washington Nationals currently hold a large lead in the National League East with roughly two weeks to go.

The Marlins will play six games on the road before heading home. The first road trip of the season also includes a visit to New York. Miami's home schedule begins with a two-game series against the Atlanta Braves on April 11th.

Miami's interleague schedule features the Seattle Mariners, Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics, Los Angeles Angels, Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays. The Athletics, Astros, Angels and Rays will visit Marlins Park. Miami will travel to Seattle, Oakland and Tampa Bay.

The All-Star break will take place from July 10-13 with the Home Run Derby on the 10th. The All-Star Game will be on the 11th and both events will be hosted at Marlins Park. Miami will stay home after the Midsummer Classic for series against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies.

Miami's longest homestand of the year will come at the end of June with ten games. During the long home stretch, the Marlins will welcome the Nationals, Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. The series against Chicago will be a four-game affair.

The 2017 season for the Marlins will come to an end on October 1st with a home game against the Atlanta Braves. The season ending series will be four games long.
