Massachusetts Man Wins Hemingway Look-Alike Contest

Richard Costello was chosen by previous contest winners

A Massachusetts man won a Facebook competition to find the man who most looks like Ernest Hemingway, the Florida Keys News Bureau announced.

Richard Costello beat 86 other entries and won the Virtual “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest by the Florida Keys Tourism Council.

Costello was made a top 10 finalist by Facebook users and then chosen by previous contest winners. As his prize, Costello, who lives in the coastal town of Chatham on Cape Cod, won a trip to Key West to participate in the live preliminary round of the look-alike contest.

The next round will be held during the annual Hemingway Days festival July 17 through 22 at Sloppy Joe’s Bar.

The festival will also feature a short story contest coordinated by the author's granddaughter, Lorian Hemingway.
