Massive Mall Proposed in South Florida

If all goes according to plan, south Florida could become home to the largest shopping mall in the world, a 200-acre entertainment complex complete with a Legoland, sea lions, simulated ski slopes, and even submarine rides.

Land developer Triple Five, the same company behind Minnesota's massive Mall of America, which is currently the largest shopping center in the world, want to expand into south Florida and develop the mall just off the Turnpike and I75 in Miami-Dade.

"Americana World" would cost about $4 billion to construct, and would likely become the largest private employer in Miami-Dade once complete.

No timetable yet on the proposed site.
