A proposed constitutional amendment to allow medical use of marijuana in Florida will be back on the ballot in November.
The group organizing a petition drive to put the issue on the ballot reached its goal Wednesday.
United For Care now has 692,981 signatures, nearly 10,000 more than it needs to put the question before voters.
The group fell just shy of having medical marijuana approved by voters in 2014. The state requires 60 percent approval for constitutional amendments, and the ballot question was supported by 57.6 percent of voters.
Personal injury lawyer John Morgan has spent more than $6 million between the 2014 and 2016 efforts to legalize medical marijuana.
Morgan sent out an email to supporters saying, "We're back. We're going to win for the patients. BELIEVE!!!''
