One South Florida city prepared to take a symbolic stand against republican presidential candidate and resort owner Donald Trump. But the resolution fell through.
The vice mayor in Doral proposed the resolution requesting the mayor and council condemn the remarks of Trump, regarding immigrants.
However, the council turned it down with a 3-2 vote on Wednesday evening.

Community activists wanted the council to take away Trump's keys to the City of Doral and to cancel any city business or events with Trump's resort.
NBC 6 spoke to Mayor Luigi Boria who said this is all too politicized and he doesn't believe the city's business relationship with Trump should end. The mayor noted Trump is the second largest employer in the city.

NBC 6 also caught up with the vice mayor who proposed the resolution.
"I'm bringing it forth because I found the comments made by Donald Trump extremely offensive, derogatory, and to a certain degree racist," Vice Mayor Sandra Ruiz said. "We're not the first municipality to actually address this."
According to the mayor, Trump has invested more than $250 million in Doral.
