Memorial Vigil Held for Andres Bravo

The baby was removed from life support Saturday afternoon after spending 5 days in the hospital with severe brain injuries, a lung contusion and retinal bleeding.

Those gathered at the vigil said they hoped it would be a moment of prayer and hope for the baby to survive. Instead, it became a memorial for a boy that left this world too soon.

Gathered together in mourning, friends of baby Andres Bravo's father reflected on the 5-month-old's short life.

"What a gorgeous angel he was," said family friend Tiffany Aquino. "A baby full of life a baby that just brightened your entire world."

The baby was removed from life support Saturday afternoon after spending 5 days in the hospital with severe brain injuries, a lung contusion and retinal bleeding.

Antwan Sawyer, the boyfriend of the child's mother, is behind bars and charged with attempted murder.

Sot, Adolfo Bravo, father- "i've been having rough days, seeing my son like that," said Adolfo Bravo, the baby's father. "But I have a certain relief today, he's in peace."

"we had hoped for a better result at the end of this," Aquino said. "So we're all here to show support and be here for the baby."

At the vigil, friends held candles, wrote messages of support, and sent a clear message for justice. Sasha Garcia, the baby's mother, was not present.

"I want justice for Antwan," Bravo said. "He needs to get what he deserves to get."

In the name of justice and also in the name of Andres Bravo, the group also created a foundation to raise awareness about child abuse. The baby's father was grateful for the outpouring of support from so many who never had a chance to meet his little boy.

"It's devastating," Bravo said. "I would hate for it to happen to somebody else if I can do something about it."

Funeral arrangements are still in the works. Friends are hoping to raise more money through their go fund me page.
