Miami Beach Man Tried to Rob Woman, Exposed Himself: Police

David Furman faces charges of strong arm robbery and lewd and lascivious behavior

A Miami Beach man was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob and expose himself to a woman as she walked home from the laundromat, police said.

Prosecutors said 26-year-old David Furman targeted a victim twice his age and tried to forcefully take her laundry bag Monday afternoon near Tatum Waterway Drive and 77th Street in Miami Beach.

The victim told detectives as she tried to yell for help, Furman's pants were partially down and he was exposing himself. He pulled his pants back up when he tried to flee, police said.

Furman was in bond court Tuesday, along with his family members and girlfriend, who told the judge he has medical issues.

The prosecutor called Furman a "danger to the community" and requested an elevated bond.

Furman faces charges of strong arm robbery and lewd and lascivious behavior, according to online jail records. His bond was set at $8,000 and was given house arrest and a stay-away order from the victim and her home.
