400 Gallons of Gas Stolen From Hess Gas Station: Cops

The Miami-Dade Police was investigating fuel thefts from a Hess Gas Station.

Two men stole about 400 gallons of gas from the Hess Gas Station at 7550 NW 186 St., police said. One man is still at large.

Dayan Navarro, 19, and Dan Gonzalez, 22, parked over the refueling port of the gas station and their car, a teal Dodge Caravan, had hoses and an electric pump to utilize siphon fuel into three large plastic tanks, police said.

Both men were able to pump about 400 gallons of gas through an opening in the floor of the van, police said.

When Gonzalez went into the gas station, an employee recognized him from video surveillance from previous fuel thefts, police said.

Responding officers took Navarro into custody. He was charged with grand theft, criminal mischief and unlawful conveyance of fuel. However, Gonzalez ran away and is still at large.

Surveillance video captured images of the suspects. Investigators are asking the public to help locate Gonzalez.
