Miami-Dade Police were investigating after they said an officer shot a man during a confrontation in southwest Miami-Dade Saturday morning.
The police-involved shooting happened just before 6 a.m. Saturday at 11800 SW 18 St.
Authorities said shots were fired after officers became involved in a confrontation with a man at the home. They originally reported to the scene for a violent altercation, possibly involving an armed man, Miami-Dade Police said.

The officers were not injured in the shooting, and the man was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital in stable condition.
The name of the man shot, nor the name of the female victim, has been released.
No other information was immediately known.
