Miami-Dade Police Shot at Suspect During Foot Chase, Police Say

It's unclear whether the suspect was grazed by a bullet, police said

At least one Miami-Dade Police detective shot at a suspect during a foot pursuit Tuesday before the suspect barricaded himself inside a home, police said.

The male suspect was subsequently apprehended and taken to a hospital with minor injuries, though it is unclear whether they were from getting grazed by a bullet or from falling during the chase, Miami-Dade Police said in a statement.

The shooting took place at SW 190th Street and SW 113th Avenue at about 5:15 p.m., according to police.

Robbery detectives approached two male subjects and one of them fled, leading at least one detective to fire at him, police said.

The second male suspect, who had a federal warrant, was taken into custody without incident, police added.

Police have not released the names of the suspects or detectives involved, and say they continue to investigate.
