Miami Doctor Denies Giving Manny Drugs

Manny Ramirez's drug suspension has a Miami Doctor in hot water.
Dr. Pedro Bosch has broken his silence. The Coral Gables doctor, who is currently being investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, told the Miami Herald he has "never" prescribed a drug to Los Angeles Dodger's slugger Manny Ramirez.
Ramirez recently came off a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance, a violation of the MLB drug testing policy. ESPN reported that Ramirez, who owns a home in South Florida, may have attained prescriptions for the banned substance from Bosch or his son, Anthony Bosch.
"The allegations contained in the ESPN article are not only offensive but totally false,'' Bosch told the Miami Herald. He went on to demand an apology for the accusations from ESPN. Good luck with that one, doctor.
The DEA has already confirmed they were eying the father-son doctors, but have yet to elaborate on their findings.
Ramirez tested positive for a drug known as hCG, which generally prescribed to women, but that is also used to mask the use of performance-enhancers. Bosch said he has never prescribed the fertility drug.
Ramirez has not commented much on the issue, but soon after his suspension, he claims he received the drug from a doctor and didn't know it was an illegal substance to take.
"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was OK to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy, that mistake is now my responsibility,'' Ramirez said in the statement. He never named the physician.
