Miami Dolphins' Koa Misi Involved in Incident at Nightclub: Fort Lauderdale Police

Police responded to an incident involving Miami Dolphins linebacker Koa Misi at a Fort Lauderdale club over the weekend, authorities confirmed Thursday.

Fort Lauderdale Police officials said officers responded to Cyn Nightclub at 111 Southwest 2nd Avenue early Sunday morning. Misi, 29, wasn't arrested or charged.

Police gave no other details of the incident. The Sun-Sentinel reported that Misi was involved in a fight outside the club and tried to flee from a police officer.

"We are aware of the reports involving Koa Misi and are continuing to gather information. We have no further comment at this time," the Dolphins said in a statement Thursday.

Misi, originally from Santa Rosa, Calif., played college ball at Utah before he was drafted by the Dolphins in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, with the 40th overall pick.

In 2014, Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby was also arrested at Cyn on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
