Miami Dolphins' Ndamukong Suh Helps Families Pay Layaway Balances

Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh showed his Santa Claus side Monday when he helped pay off the layaway balances for dozens of South Florida families.

The NFL star paid the balances for about 30 families at a Burlington Coat Factory in Lauderdale Lakes, teaming up with a non-profit organization in the holiday surprise.

"I always like surprising people and being able to do these things, I'm usually not a big person of getting surprised for myself but I don't mind doing it to others," Suh said. "It does feel good but at the end of the day it's all about them and them enjoying their holidays."

The families came to the store without a clue. They were there to simply buy the gifts they had put on layaway but then the football star, one of the most intense players in the game, shows up and instantly brightens their lives.

"Look what he did, oh my God, so thanks," said Tousha Norris.

"I was very surprised to see they had paid off the layaway, very happy, very grateful," Anessia Martin said.

Suh partnered with an organization called payawaythelayaway.org to make it happen, saying he's glad people helped him on the way up and thrilled he can do it for those in need now.

"I appreciate it so much, it's a pleasure and I'm happy about it," Marva Gordon said.
