Miami Gardens Resident Wins $5 Million In Florida Lottery

Three times was the charm for Jacqueline Ramon Herrera, who won $5 million playing the Florida Lottery at a Miami Gardens supermarket, lottery officials confirmed Friday.

Herrera, 45, purchased the scratch off game ticket from Baby Supermarket on Wednesday, according to a press release. She spent $20 and won nothing. She spent another $20 and won nothing. But after her 3rd try with another $20, Herrera hit the jackpot: $5 million.

The Miami Gardens resident is a regular at Baby Supermarket, which will receive $10,000 as a bonus for selling the winning ticket. Herrera chose to receive the cash as a one-time, lump-sum payment.
