As the Miami Hurricanes enter the bye week for 2016 with an undefeated record, the men from Coral Gables are spending that time unveiling the latest addition to their wardrobe –a tribute to their past championship teams.
A tweet sent from a sports anchor in Washington D.C. set off a firestorm about plans from the ‘Canes and their apparel partner, adidas, to add a new look to the team’s football uniforms:

The uniforms will pay tribute to the teams from the 1980’s and early 1990’s, when the Hurricanes won five national titles over a nine season period between 1983 and 1991.
