Miami Man Caught With 7 Pounds of Pot

Duffel bag of weed found in truck bed

A Miami Man was arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office with seven pounds of marijuana in his truck last night, police said.

Yascel Garcia, 33, was driving a truck towing a boat when U.S. Customs and Border Protection pulled over his vehicle on Big Coppitt Key.

The officers asked for Garcia's permission to search his vessel and his truck, and in the rear of the truck, they found a large duffel bag with marijuana inside.

Garcia admitted the marijuana, weighing 7.2 pounds, belonged to him. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. His truck and his boat were seized for possible forfeiture.
