Miami Man Poured Bleach on Couple in Armed Home Invasion: Police

A Miami man is facing multiple charges after police say he doused a couple with bleach during a frightening armed home invasion.

British Marque West, 26, was arrested Tuesday on charges of armed home invasion, burglary with assault or battery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to an arrest report.

West appeared in court Wednesday where he was ordered held without bond. It's unknown if he's hired an attorney.

According to the arrest report, West entered the couple's home in the 800 block of Northwest 18th Court the morning of July 7, possibly through an unlocked front door.

As the woman opened her fridge, West pointed a gun at her and told her to get down, then dumped out her purse and took her money and cell phone, the report said.

West then forced the woman into her bedroom where her husband was laying in bed, and ransacked the room taking money, a gun, the husband's cell phone and some jewelry, the report said.

At one point, West ordered the couple to crawl into their bathroom, then doused them with bleach and poured it all over the bedroom, the report said.

West forced the couple at gunpoint into their living room and ransacked the rest of the bedrooms before locking them in the garage, the report said. He tried to steal their car but ultimately fled the home on foot, stealing more than $40,000 worth of property, the report said.

After Miami-Dade Police arrested West on August 6 in a separate armed home invasion, detectives added his picture to a photo lineup and the wife picked him out, the report said.

Police searched West's car and found two watches that were stolen from the victims' daughter's room, the report said. They also found jogging pants and a pair on sandals that he wore during the home invasion, according to the report.

West denied any involvement in the home invasion, the report said.
