Miami Marlins Add 3,000 Parking Spaces For Fans

There are now 17,000 total spaces available.

The Miami Marlins announced a new parking plan Saturday that added 3,000 parking spaces for fan use.

About 11 of the 14 new parking lots providing the spaces are located within one mile of the stadium. The remaining lots are within two miles and will be provided with shuttle service, the Marlins said.

Of the 17,000 total spaces now available for fans, 8,000 are half a mile from the stadium at private residences. About 5,700 are on the ballpark property.

Several public bus routes can also bring ballpark visitors within blocks of the stadium.

The Marlins have been working to accommodate both local residents and fans on game day. The county recently eliminated a few blocks worth of on-street parking as part of a plan to redirect traffic, which only angered local residents.
