Miami Police Arrest Woman for 2009 Homicide of Boyfriend

Miami Police detectives have made an arrest related to a 2009 homicide.

Deborah Lynn Andrews, 54, has been charged with one count of second degree murder with a deadly weapon.

Police said the homicide happened in the 700 block of Northwest 13th Avenue on Jan. 9, 2009.

According to detectives, Ismael Pico was found unresponsive by Miami Police officers. They arrived to Pico's home after receiving a 911 call from Andrews, his then girlfriend, claiming he had apparently committed suicide.

Pico was pronounced dead on the scene of an apparent stab wound. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office later ruled his death a homicide.

After an extensive investigation, detectives had enough evidence to arrest Andrews and charge her with Pico's murder.

She appeared in court on Friday, but it's unknown whether she has an attorney.

Andrews was being held without bond.
