Miami Police Investigating Overtown Shooting

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to contact Crime Stoppers.

Miami Police are investigating after shots were fired in Overtown Saturday morning.

Officers responded to Northwest 3rd Avenue and 17th Street at about 10:30 a.m. after reports of shots being fired in that area, according to a news release.

When officers arrived, they saw a man running through the parking lot of a church, so they blocked off the area, said the release. SWAT and K-9 units responded to the scene, but officials said they were unable to locate a suspect.

Police said the motive of the shooting was unknown. Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
