1-Year-Old Girl Abducted by Father: Miami Police

Police say they fear for the girl's safety

A father abducted his one-year-old daughter after a domestic dispute at NW 19th Ave. and 47th Terrace Tuesday night, threatening to harm her before returning her to her mother, Miami Police said.

Amanda Kamora Alexander may have been injured when her father, Alfred Lamant Alexander, 27, took her away after a dispute with her mother, according to Miami Police, who responded to the scene at 6 p.m.

The girl's mother told NBC Miami that her relatives have received threatening text messages from Alexander.

“My biggest fear is all these text messages talking about how he going to kill me and her, and he also said that he was going to kill her before he brought her back to me,” mother Chalandra Jackson said.

Miami Police are investigating, and were conducting a door-to-door search for Alfred Alexander late Tuesday.

"He fled on foot in the area, our officers immediately conducted a grid search, checking door to door, checking with the neighbors," Miami Police Sgt. Freddie Cruz said. "We followed up on a few leads, however we have not located this individual nor the child."
